Morning! 6:25am. Having breakfast, then off for practice round. Catch up later with how I have done.

• Morning! Or afternoon in UK. Had some American waffles for breakfast and then sausage and eggs!! Just to keep me going. Off to checkout the golf course and book up my practice rounds. I am playing Torry Pines this afternoon. Quite warm in the 80’s

• Checked in and clubs on plane (hopefully!) – chilling in the Escape Lounge courtesy of Mum! Excited and will keep you all updated. Thanks for all the good wishes x

• James recently attended a 90-min assessment at the renowned Pete Cowen Golf Academy. Michael Walker studied his performance & was very impressed saying he was technically perfect & he had never seen a 10 year old hit a golf ball so far. Unbeknown to all, Pete Cowen – top coach to many golfing stars – had also been observing & was equally blown away, commenting that James is one to watch in the future.
• Last month James was invited to play in the Young Stars Open representing the GM Tour 10s and under category. The day was held at the prestigious MacDonald Portal hotel in Cheshire and was designed to inspire juniors to take up the game of golf.
• James has started his new training regime and is having a great time with Iain Ross (head coach) who is overseeing his overall prep for San Diego alongside Gavin Simms (short game), Matt Oliver (playing coach and course management) and Will Harvey (putting coach). That’s Monday to Thursday – on Fridays James has a break and plays footie with his mates! See www.jamesbaileygolf.com for photos of James and his coaches.

Michael was very impressed with James’ golfing skills saying he was technically perfect and he had never seen a 10 year old hit a golf ball so far. Unbeknown to all, Pete Cowen had also been observing the assessment and was equally blown away with what he had seen, commenting that James is one to watch in the future.

Over the years Pete has worked with some of the very best players in the world including Darren Clarke, Lee Westwood, Henrik Stenson, Oliver Wilson, Colin Montgomerie, David Howell, Jose Maria-Olazabal, Paul McGinley and Ian Woosnam.

• James played better but finished with 6,7 & 8 to end up with a 96 that hurt! Average day today with the high winds was 87. James off early tomorrow, let’s hope he can pull in a decent score to finish off. Keep you posted ….
