James and Monty go head to head

James and Monty go head to head

At the Golf LIVE Show at the London Club this weekend (21 & 22 May), James enjoyed a chipping competition with the legendary Colin Montgomerie. “Colin was good fun” commented James, “and yes, he was just slightly better than me!” he admitted.

Colin was looking forward to the event – he said in his journal: “On Friday and the weekend I am at Golf LIVE at The London Club. Golf LIVE provides a unique and memorable experience for golfers of all ages and abilities. It’s very important that we make ourselves, as pros, available to the general public more than we do. Generally, we turn up at golf courses, play our round and go home. The public has watched us play from a distance but hasn’t really learnt much about who we are, what our personalities are like and how we go about certain shots, so people get a real benefit from it. It’s just a full day out for the family.”

James and his dad Phil certainly agree with those sentiments.

James hits the headlines

James’ recent win at Wildwood Golf and Country Club has clearly inspired several local editors as he has appeared in Staffordshire Life, Streets Ahead and the Burton Mail. The fact that he is representing the UK in the Callaway Junior World Tournament in San Diego this July has certainly put James in the spotlight this month.
